Once the application form and requirements are submitted, the applicant is scheduled for Admissions Examinations. AIM accepts results from:

a. The AIM Admissions Test (AIMAT). The AIMAT can be taken from our designated Representative Offices in India, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia. Please refer to the website for contact information of these offices. The AIM office in Manila has scheduled dates for the AIMAT which is also available on the website. Because of visa clearance requirements, students who intend to join any of AIM's degree programs should be taking the AIMAT at least 11 weeks before the start of classes.

b. The GMAT AIM requires a score of 550 in the GMAT to qualify for admission, but will require a GMAT score of 600 if the applicant seeks scholarship assistance either from AIM or ADB.

c. " The XLRI Admissions Test or XAT "

SSAR

Faculty Interview

Once the applicant passes the exam, the application papers go through a pre-screening program that summarizes the applicants strengths, accomplishments and other items worthy of consideration. These are then forwarded to the Graduate School of Business (GSB), which shall assign a faculty member to interview the student. This is usually done within a week after the student has taken the exams, or has completed all requirements.

GSB

Acceptance

If the student passes the interview, a Letter of Acceptance is issued by the SSAR. This is sent to the student's mailing address. Likewise, a scanned copy of the letter is sent to him/her via e-mail. The student is usually given 1-2 weeks to confirm his enrollment.

Please be informed that students accepted to study at AIM are required to secure a 47(a)(2) visa. This is a special non-immigrant visa that allows students to bring their family to the Philippines while they are students of AIM. There is a clearance procedure, which AIM undertakes with the Department of Foreign Affairs before this visa can be issued. This process takes up to 6 weeks. For this reason, all confirmations must be made at least 8 weeks before the start of classes.

Students who wish to bring their family with them for the duration of their studies must also submit copies of the passports of their spouse and children. In addition, a copy of the marriage contract is also required. Some students make arrangements for their families to follow after their arrival. You may e-mail us for specific concerns such as this and other related items.

SSAR

Reservation / Confirmation of Acceptance

The student confirms his enrollment by paying the down payment indicated in the letter of acceptance. The student also indicates his dormitory reservations in his confirmation. A copy of the pre-arrival FAQ's is posted on the website under prospective students.

SSAR / Dorm / Finance

Enrollment

Students usually arrive in campus a week before classes start. They proceed to the SSAR for the Enrollment Process.

Exams

AIM conducts its own test, the AIM Admission Test (AIMAT). Because of this, GMAT is not a requirement. However, if you have taken and passed the GMAT within the last three (3) years, it will also be considered in lieu of the AIMAT. We require a minimum GMAT Score of 550. However, the GMAT score requirement for an applicant who is applying for scholarship is 600.

The AIMAT fee is $20.00 or its equivalent in pesos. For Indian applicants, the India Representative Office charges Rs. 2,500 for its processing fee which is inclusive of the AIMAT fee.

As a policy, we do not give out AIMAT results to applicants. Should the applicant pass the exam, he/she will be called for an interview at once.

For overseas AIMAT schedules, please contact the Representative Office in your area.

The AIM campus in Makati City, Philippines will administer the AIMAT starting January 12, 2008. Please contact the AIM Student Services Admissions and Registrar (SSAR) Office at (+632) 892-4011 ext. 108 or email: admissions@aim.edu for AIMAT reservations and scheduling details.

Transcripts

Original or certified true copy of transcript of records is required in applying for the MBA, MM, MDM, and ME courses.

Visa

AIM requires 47(A)2 visa for overseas students. This special non-immigrant visa permits the student to bring his/her spouse and children to the country. The student, furthermore, enjoys the right to be exempted from the payment of visa fees. The visa is valid only as long as you are a student of AIM. Exchange/Overseas students are not required to have a working visa.

Interviews

The score in the qualifying exam is considered along with other factors like work experience, transcript of records, and the panel interview by faculty members of AIM. For local applicants, interviews will be conducted at the AIM office. For overseas applicants, the faculty assigned to do the marketing trip will conduct the interviews. Generally, if you have two (2) below-average scores, you will not be interviewed anymore.

The AIM Admissions Committee conducts interviews with almost all applicants to help them assess the applicants' leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Application deadlines are considered along with the time needed to obtain visa clearances, process scholarship requests, schedule and conduct interviews, and correspond properly to the applicant, among others.
