The third and final module in the MM is about inspirational leadership, a more intensely values-based, visioning type of leadership. Accompanying this leadership is actual strategic execution and performance measurement. The walkabout and final MRR defense are part of the third module. This last module has four stages: The Leader as Visionary and Weaver of Dreams; The Leader as Missionary; The Leader as Role Model, and Value Formator; and the Leader as Servant. |
In the first stage, the student acquires skills required for implementing and sustaining strategies. Action planning, contingency mechanisms, institutionalizing change, evaluating strategy and re-strategizing for sustainability are among the topics taken up in this module. |
In the stage of the Leader as a Missionary, the student learns to articulate his vision into a mission statement for his organization. This is aligned with lessons in Performance Management and the Leadership Walkabout. Skills required in re-entry and career management are also developed under this module with the introduction of electives in the functional fields as well as in special topics of interest to the students. |
The next stage on The Leader as Role Model and Value Formator, focuses on leading by example and on nourishing the organizational culture. Here the student is trained in the areas of Corporate Governance, Business Ethics, and Corporate Credo and Philosophy. |
The final stage of the third module deals with the Leader as a Servant. Here, the leader foregoes his personal interest for the higher good of the whole organization. The major topics here are Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility. |
The MM has no distinction in functional areas: every case is considered a whole, not a specified functional case not only marketing, but also finance, HR, strategy, and even quantitative analysis. Professors should be adept at handling multiple disciplines and situations. |
Because of the preference for the case method, students must process at least three cases and their accompanying readings each day, five days a week, full-time. Similar to the MBA, MM students should attend at least 75% of their classes, and class participation accounts for 50% or more of students grades. Therefore students must recite actively or lose position. |
The philosophy, objectives, and intended learning outcomes of the MM have been closely intertwined with AIM's overall vision-mission. The MM highlights practitioner orientation, leadership, entrepreneurship, Asianness, and social responsibility. Course outlines with key. |
